Littlemill 25 Years Old 1992 Cask #42 (Sansibar)

Sansibar is a German independent tied to the famous bar of the same name on the island of Sylt, its single casks much sought after. Filled in 1992 and bottled in 2018, the whisky is a 25 year old Littlemill, from cask 42, in the Spirits Shop' Selection range. No spirit has flowed at Bowling since 1992, leaving only the casks already filled.

Ex-Bourbon and twenty-five years round the fine, fruity Littlemill make.

Bottled at cask strength, 55.2%, the ex-Bourbon lends vanilla and a creamy oak note. A delicate, floral character, silky and gently sweet. Decades of slow oxidation turned the spirit's aldehydes to acids and then to fruity esters, the ex-Bourbon adding vanilla beneath. Long maturation has cost the cask dearly to the angels, easing the alcohol and leaving a deeper, concentrated spirit.
