Littlemill 16 Years Old 1991 Cask #DL 4064 (Douglas Laing)

The Laing family has bottled whisky from Glasgow since 1948, Douglas Laing carrying the name. This 16 year old Littlemill, from cask DL 4064 was distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2008, in The Old Malt Cask range. The distillery is gone, so what survives in cask is all there will ever be.

An ex-Bourbon cask and sixteen years shape Littlemill's light, buttery Lowland spirit.

Bottled at cask strength, 50%, the ex-Bourbon gives vanilla and a creamy oak. Soft orchard fruit, honey and vanilla lead, in the gentle Littlemill style. Furfural from the toasted oak lends a faint almond note, lignin the vanilla, the low tannins a soft frame.
