Description
Cadenhead's was founded in Aberdeen in 1842 and is Scotland's oldest independent bottler, now based in Campbeltown. Distilled in 1992, this 27 year old Littlemill was bottled in 2019. A finite legacy from a vanished distillery, growing rarer with each bottling.
Twenty-seven years in ex-Bourbon frame Littlemill's soft orchard-fruit spirit.
Bottled at cask strength, 49.8%, the American oak lends vanilla and a buttery note. Expect fresh fruit, old wood, vanilla, citrus, cooked fruit, honey. A refill barrel works slowly: vanillin for vanilla, lactones for coconut, and oxidation building soft orchard fruit. At this age the angel's share has done its quiet work: in humid Scottish warehouses alcohol leaves faster than water, easing the strength and concentrating the flavour.
