Littlemill 31 Years Old 1991 Wood Range Sherry Cask (Cadenhead’s)

Cadenhead's was founded in Aberdeen in 1842 and is Scotland's oldest independent bottler, now based in Campbeltown. This 31 year old Littlemill was distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2022, part of the Wood Range - Sherry Cask series. These are the last of Littlemill, a closed distillery's stock dwindling toward nothing.

Matured in Oloroso, thirty-one years deepen the soft, floral Littlemill make with the cask.

At its natural 47.6%, the Oloroso lends raisin, fig and a nutty spice. It carries honey, new wood, old wood, a sherried character. Melanoidins from the sherry read as dried fruit, the tannins as structure, oxidation rounding the whole. Decades in a damp Lowland warehouse cost roughly two percent a year, alcohol leaving faster than water, softening the strength and deepening the spirit.
