Littlemill 28 Years Old 1990 (Single Cask)

Scotland's oldest independent, Cadenhead's has selected casks since 1842 and is owned by the Springbank family. This 28 year old Littlemill came off the stills in 1990 and was bottled in 2019. Every release draws down a finite store that can never be replenished.

Matured in ex-Bourbon, twenty-eight years carry the fragrant Lowland character.

At 50.7%, undiluted, light vanilla and coconut from the American oak. It carries citrus, fresh fruit, honey, a malt note, a mossy note, a nutty note. A refill barrel works slowly: vanillin for vanilla, lactones for coconut, and oxidation building soft orchard fruit. The years have drawn off much of the cask, alcohol faster than water in the Scottish damp, leaving this mature, gentle remainder.
