Description
This 27 Years Old was distilled in 1968 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for its Connoisseurs Choice range in 1995. Kinclaith was a Lowland malt within the Strathclyde grain complex in Glasgow, built in 1957 and gone by 1975, its single malt never officially released by the distillery.
Among the towering grain stills sat one pair of pot stills, Glasgow's last malt, its spirit kept for Long John blends. Matured in ex-Bourbon across twenty-seven years, the wood deepened this scarce old malt.
Bottled at 40%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanillin for vanilla and oak lactones for coconut, with maltol for toffee, the recorded note a yeasty depth over the aged spirit. A Connoisseurs Choice glimpse of a long-gone Glasgow distillery.
