Kilchoman Machir Bay Cask Strength 58.6%

This is a Cask Strength Limited Edition of Kilchoman Machir Bay, the flagship bottled undiluted from ex-Bourbon and Oloroso casks. Kilchoman, founded by Anthony Wills in 2005, was the first new distillery on Islay in over 124 years.

The distillery malts its own barley and bottles on site. Matured in ex-Bourbon and Oloroso casks at full strength, the bourbon wood gives the base and the sherry a darker layer.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 58.6%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, the Oloroso dried fruit, with peat phenols carrying the smoke. The recorded notes run to smoke, vanilla, a coal-gas edge, fresh fruit, malt sweetness and honey. The flagship at full power.
