Description

This Port Cask Matured 2024 Edition is a 6 year old, matured in Port wine casks, part of the distillery's annual full-Port release. Kilchoman is Islay's only farm distillery, the first new distillery on the island in over 124 years when Anthony Wills founded it in 2005.

At Rockside Farm the whole process runs from barley to bottle on one site. Matured in Port casks, the wine wood adds plum and cherry to the young peated spirit.

Bottled at 50%. The Port gives plum and cherry with a jammy sweetness while peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded notes run to leather, a sherried character, smoke, malt sweetness, seasoned oak and chocolate. The 2024 Port-matured farm malt.
