Description

This An T-Earrach 2022 Mezcal Finish is a spring release of Kilchoman's Uniquely Islay Series, an 8 year old from 2013 finished in a mezcal cask, drawn from cask 723. An outturn of 263 bottles for Germany. Set up by Anthony Wills in 2005, Kilchoman remains Islay's only farm distillery.

Malting, distilling and bottling all happen on the farm, the barley to bottle way. Matured in ex-Bourbon and finished in a mezcal cask, the smoky agave wood meets the peat in an unusual pairing.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 54.8%. The mezcal cask gives an earthy, smoky agave note over the bourbon vanilla, while peat phenols add Islay smoke. A mezcal-finished spring single cask, smoke on smoke.
