This Mezcal Finish Single Cask is a 9 year old from 2013, finished in a mezcal cask, cask 741. An outturn of 261 bottles. Set up by Anthony Wills in 2005, Kilchoman remains Islay's only farm distillery.

Malting, distilling and bottling all happen on the farm, the barley to bottle way. Matured in ex-Bourbon and finished in a mezcal cask, the smoky agave wood meets the Islay peat.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 54.8%. The mezcal cask gives an earthy, smoky agave note over the bourbon vanilla, while peat phenols add Islay smoke. The recorded notes run to a fragrant lift, dried hay, a husky edge, a leafy note, malt sweetness and vanilla. A mezcal-finished single cask, smoke on smoke.
