Kilchoman Uniquely Islay Series – An T-Earrach 2022 9 Years Old 2013 Cask 752

This An T-Earrach 2022 spring release of Kilchoman's Uniquely Islay Series is a 9 year old from 2013 finished in a tequila cask, drawn from cask 752. An outturn of 244 bottles for Germany. Kilchoman opened in 2005 as the first new Islay distillery in over a century, and is the island's only farm distillery.

Kilchoman malts its barley on site and bottles on the farm, a barley to bottle approach rare in Scotch. Matured in ex-Bourbon and finished in a tequila cask, the agave wood adds an earthy, vegetal note to the young peated spirit.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 52.3%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, the tequila cask an earthy, herbal edge, while peat phenols carry the smoke. A tequila-finished spring single cask from the seasonal series.
