Kilchoman Uniquely Islay Series – An T-Earrach 2022 9 Years Old 2013 Cask 744

An T-Earrach 2022 is the spring release of Kilchoman's Uniquely Islay Series, a 9 year old from 2013 drawn from ex-Bourbon cask 744. An outturn of 244 bottles for Germany. Kilchoman opened in 2005 as the first new Islay distillery in over a century, and is the island's only farm distillery.

Kilchoman handles malting through bottling on its own Islay farm. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask over nine years, the wood frames the young peated spirit.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 55.1%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla and citrus while peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded notes run to chocolate, citrus, a coal-gas edge, cooked fruit, fresh fruit and dried hay. A spring single cask from the seasonal series.
