Description

This Tequila Finish Single Cask is a 9 year old from 2012, finished in a tequila cask, cask 830. An outturn of 242 bottles. Kilchoman opened in 2005 as the first new Islay distillery in over a century, and is the island's only farm distillery.

At Rockside Farm the whole process runs from barley to bottle on one site. Matured in ex-Bourbon and finished in a tequila cask, the agave wood adds an earthy, herbal note.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 53.2%. The tequila cask gives an earthy, vegetal edge over the bourbon vanilla, while peat phenols carry the smoke. A tequila-finished single cask.
