Kilchoman 20th Anniversary Cask Series 14 Years Old 2011

This 14 Years Old is part of Kilchoman's 20th Anniversary Cask Series, released to mark two decades of the distillery. Vatted from five ex-Bourbon casks from 2011, it was an outturn of 3,145 bottles. Kilchoman opened in 2005 as the first new Islay distillery in over a century, and is the island's only farm distillery.

The distillery malts its own barley and bottles on the farm. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks over fourteen years, the wood deepens the peated spirit.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 55%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla while peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded notes run to malt sweetness, honey, a medicinal edge, a nutty note, an oily texture and a sherried hint. An anniversary bourbon vatting.
