Description
This 13 year old from 2010 is one of Kilchoman's Sister Casks, A Maturation Journey, an ex-Bourbon single cask number 479 giving 235 bottles for Germany. The series pairs casks filled together to compare. Anthony Wills founded Kilchoman in 2005; it is the only farm distillery on Islay.
The distillery malts on site and bottles on the farm, keeping the whole process in one place. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask over thirteen years, the wood frames the young peated spirit.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 53.8%. Citrus and vanilla rise from the ex-Bourbon cask while peat phenols bring the smoke. One of a pair of sibling bourbon casks.
