Description

This Single Cask is a 5 year old from 2010, ex-Bourbon cask 687. An outturn of 258 bottles for Italy. Kilchoman opened in 2005 as the first new Islay distillery in over a century, and is the island's only farm distillery.

The distillery malts on site and bottles on the farm, keeping the whole process in one place. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask, the wood frames the young peated spirit.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 59.7%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla while peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded notes run to honey, an oily texture, smoke and vanilla. A young single cask for Italy.
