Description

This Single Cask was bottled in support of the Islay Pipe Band, a 3 year old from 2010, ex-Bourbon cask 581. A small outturn of 126 bottles for the UK. Kilchoman is the only farm distillery on Islay, founded by Anthony Wills in 2005, and deeply tied to its island community.

Kilchoman malts its barley on site and bottles on the farm, a barley to bottle approach rare in Scotch. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask, the wood frames the very young peated spirit.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 60.5%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla and citrus while peat phenols drive the smoke. A young single cask for the island pipe band.
