Kilchoman Small Batch Release 5 Years Old 2008

This Small Batch Release is a 5 year old from 2008, vatted from three Oloroso casks. An outturn of 780 bottles for Germany. Set up by Anthony Wills in 2005, Kilchoman remains Islay's only farm distillery.

At Rockside Farm the whole process runs from barley to bottle on one site. Matured in Oloroso casks, the sherry wood meets the young peated spirit.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 59.4%. The Oloroso gives dried fruit, melanoidins reading as fig and raisin, while peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded notes run to malt sweetness, a medicinal edge and smoke. A young sherried small batch at full strength.
