Description

This 8th Edition of Kilchoman 100% Islay is the distillery's own-barley single malt at six years old, with Oloroso alongside the bourbon. The 100% Islay range is Kilchoman's founding idea, grown and made entirely on its Islay farm. An outturn of 12,000 bottles.

Grown, malted, distilled and bottled at Rockside Farm, a barley to bottle whisky unique on Islay. The own-grown barley is lightly peated and matured in ex-Bourbon and Oloroso casks.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 50%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, the Oloroso a nutty edge, while gentle peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded notes run to citrus, smoke, malt sweetness, a mossy earthiness, fresh fruit and dried hay. The 8th farm edition.
