Description

The 100% Islay 10th Edition is Kilchoman's own-barley single malt at nine years old, from 2007, this one with Oloroso alongside the bourbon. The 100% Islay range is the distillery's founding idea, made entirely on its Islay farm. An outturn of 12,400 bottles.

Grown, malted, distilled and bottled at Rockside Farm, a barley to bottle whisky unique on Islay. The own-grown barley is lightly peated and matured in ex-Bourbon and Oloroso casks.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 50%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, the Oloroso a nutty depth, while gentle peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded notes run to smoke, a mossy earthiness, malt sweetness, citrus, a nutty note and a toasted edge. The 2007 farm vintage with a sherried twist.
