Description

The 100% Islay 12th Edition is Kilchoman's own-barley single malt at eight years old, from 2011, with Oloroso alongside the bourbon. The 100% Islay range is the distillery's founding philosophy, grown and made entirely on its Islay farm. An outturn of 12,500 bottles.

Every step happens at Rockside Farm, a barley to bottle whisky. The own-grown barley is lightly peated and matured in ex-Bourbon and Oloroso casks.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 50%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, the Oloroso dried fruit, while gentle peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded notes run to citrus, a coal-gas edge, fresh fruit, a medicinal note, smoke and dried fruit. The 2011 eight year old farm vintage.
