Isle of Jura Winter Edition

The Winter Edition is a seasonal Isle of Jura, the island malt matured in ex-Bourbon and Oloroso casks for a richer, warming character. Jura is the lone distillery on its remote Hebridean island, rebuilt in 1963 to revive the community.

The distillery's clean make takes sherry well. Matured in ex-Bourbon and Oloroso casks, the bourbon wood gives the base and the sherry a dried-fruit depth suited to the season.

Bottled at 40%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, the Oloroso dried fruit, melanoidins reading as fig and raisin with a nutty edge. The recorded notes run to chocolate, fresh oak, a nutty note, citrus, cooked fruit and dried fruit. A warming, sherried seasonal Jura.
