Isle of Jura The Road

The Road is part of Isle of Jura's travel-led range, the island malt matured in ex-Bourbon and Pedro Ximenez casks. Off the west coast and a short hop from Islay, Jura runs the one distillery on the island, rebuilt in 1963.

The distillery's clean make takes sherry well. Matured in ex-Bourbon and Pedro Ximenez casks, the bourbon wood gives the base and the PX a sweet, dark-fruit layer.

Bottled at 43.6%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, the Pedro Ximenez raisin and date from its melanoidins. The recorded notes run to fresh fruit, honey, citrus, chocolate, a fragrant lift and a savoury edge. An approachable, sweet travel-led Jura.
