Description
West Cork Calvados Cask is a single malt from West Cork Distillers, the independent Skibbereen distillery in Co. Cork that has made its own malt and grain since 2003. It carries no age statement and belongs to the Maritime Release range, a nod to the Atlantic warehousing where the spirit rests near the harbour town.
Matured in ex-bourbon oak and shaped by casks that once held Calvados Garnier apple brandy, it leans into baked apple and orchard fruit, with cinnamon and honey rounding the malt. Bottled at 46%, it keeps the fresh, cereal character typical of the house, the fruit of the Norman cask sitting over a clean barley base.
