Description
W. & J. Graham's Tawny Port 20 Years Old is an aged Tawny from the Graham's lodges at Vila Nova de Gaia, blended to a twenty-year average age. It is often considered the sweet spot of the range, balancing fresh fruit against developed complexity.
The wine ages oxidatively in seasoned casks, where two decades of gentle air contact soften the tannins, lighten the colour toward amber and coax out the nutty, dried-fruit notes that define a mature Tawny while still keeping some red-fruit freshness in reserve.
The bouquet is markedly nutty with mature fruit and hints of orange peel; the palate is rich, softly sweet and smooth, with date, light bitter orange, ginger and green tea accents and a long finish of golden raisin and hazelnut. Serve it slightly cool as a digestif, with coffee, or alongside dried fruit and nuts and a wedge of hard cheese.
