Description
Villa Sandi makes Il Fresco Rose in the Veneto, and this millesimato is drawn from the 2025 vintage. Prosecco rose was formalised only recently, and the style pairs the region's Glera with a small share of Pinot Noir vinified to give colour and red fruit. The wine is made by the Charmat method, with its second fermentation in stainless steel that keeps the delicate berry and floral aromatics fresh rather than building toasty weight. This handy 200 ml bottle is a single serve for an aperitif or a picnic, and the palate is finished dry in the brut style.
The colour is a delicate rose with a fine, persistent bead. The nose shows whitecurrant, Nashi pear, jasmine and honeysuckle, and the palate is fresh and light, with fine red fruit, a lively structure and a balanced, gently lingering finish. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees in a white wine glass. It makes a pretty aperitif and pairs with antipasti, summer salads and seafood, and its soft berry fruit also suits light fruit desserts.
