Description
A small batch release of the Tullamore D.E.W. Phoenix, bottled at 46.2% for the European market in 2016 in a half litre size. The Phoenix line takes its name from the emblem on Tullamore's coat of arms, a nod to the town's recovery from fire, and sits above the standard blend.
This edition leans on Oloroso sherry casks, which bring dried fruit, walnut and a honeyed, nutty sweetness to the blend of pot still, malt and grain. Bottled at 46.2%, higher than the usual 40%, it holds a fuller body and a richer, sherried character than the everyday Tullamore style, while keeping the house softness underneath.
