Description
This Tullamore Dew 12 Years Old is an older blend, distilled in 1975 and bottled in 1987 for the Italian market at 43%. Tullamore D.E.W., named for Daniel E. Williams of the Co. Offaly distillery, blends Irish pot still, malt and grain, and these vintage bottlings show the mild, balanced style the brand has long stood for.
Twelve years in ex-bourbon oak lend green apple, gentle citrus and a light toffee sweetness, with a soft spice threading through. The grain keeps it smooth and the pot still element adds just enough grip, an easy, unhurried old blend from the middle of the 1970s.
