Description
This is the ten year old single malt in the Tullamore D.E.W. range, released for the French market. Unlike the brand's familiar triple style blend, it is all malted barley, and its signature is a four cask maturation that gives the range a layered wine influence.
The malt spends time in ex-bourbon, Oloroso sherry, Port and Madeira casks, drawing vanilla from the American oak and dried fruit, red fruit and a nutty sweetness from the fortified wine wood. Around that sits a fresh, leafy, malty character with a note of chocolate. Bottled at 40%, it is the softer, fruit forward side of the Tullamore name.
