Description
A single market release of The Legendary Silkie from Sliabh Liag Distillers in Ardara, Co. Donegal: 120 bottles, finished in Portuguese Madeira casks and sent to Belgium in 2024 at cask strength. The Silkie blends trade on Donegal's revived whiskey tradition, and small runs like this show the house at its most playful.
Madeira wood brings burnt caramel, orange peel and a saline, raisined tang to the blend's ex-Bourbon foundation of vanilla and soft malt. Bottled without dilution at 50%, it drinks bigger than the core Silkie releases, the fortified wine finish thickening the texture and carrying the finish long on toffee and dried citrus.
