Master Distiller's Reserve sits above the standard Dubliner blend in the range from The Dublin Liberties Distillery in Dublin. It carries no age statement, blending malt and grain whiskeys selected for extra depth rather than to a number, and this European release ran to 600 bottles.
The whiskey matured in ex-bourbon casks in the house style, taking on vanilla, toffee and honey from the American oak, with the malt component adding orchard fruit and a dusting of baking spice. Bottled at 42%, a nudge above standard strength, it drinks with a little more grip and warmth than its 40% sibling while keeping the smooth, rounded profile the Dubliner label is built on.
