Description
Vienna Spirits makes this Sisi Kirsch as a sparkling fruit wine, fermented from real sour cherries rather than a grape base, which sets it apart from the rest of the range and gives it its intense, natural cherry character at a gentle seven and a half percent. The base is fully fermented and then lightly carbonated, keeping the fruit fresh and the fizz soft. Its deep colour and imperial label are built around the Sisi theme.
The colour is a radiant garnet red with a delicate core and a fine bead. The nose is dominated by stewed and fresh sour cherry with a hint of cherry juice. On the palate cooked sour cherry meets warm hints of cinnamon, clove and a touch of white pepper, the gentle sweetness balanced by a lively acidity for a round, fruit driven finish. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees in a white wine glass. It suits fruit and chocolate desserts, poppy seed strudel and richer festive dishes, or a glass on its own.
