Description
Perrier-Jouet has been one of Champagne's most renowned houses since the 19th century, and Blason Rose reflects its floral, elegant signature. The blend is 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Pinot Meunier and 20% Chardonnay, drawn from around 50 different crus. Pinot Noir gives structure and depth, Pinot Meunier adds fruit and body, and Chardonnay brings freshness and cut. The wine follows the traditional method, with a second fermentation in bottle and ageing on the lees, which lends a fine bead and a light pastry depth beneath the red fruit.
The colour is a vibrant rose with delicate orange highlights and a fine, lively bead. The nose shows pomegranate, peach, blood orange and ripe red fruit over white flowers and a subtle pastry note, and the palate blends rose and blossom with strawberry and cherry, backed by citrus and a light hazelnut edge. The finish is elegant and long. Serve at 8 to 10 degrees in a white wine glass. It suits salmon, tuna and prawns, and stands up to duck breast and veal.
