Ocho Tequila Reposado Tierras Negras 2024

Ocho Tequila Reposado Tierras Negras 2024 comes from the Camarena family, whose roots in Arandas, Los Altos reach back generations and whose first highland agave was planted around 150 years ago. Ocho is built on single estate, vintage dated production, NOM 1474, with each release named for the specific field, here Tierras Negras in the community of La Parada, a stony, clay grey plot planted with agave for the first time and yielding pinas of unusually high sugar.

As a reposado it rests at least two months in oak, light wood over a present highland agave core, bottled at 40% in a 500ml format. The nose is floral with rich cooked agave, almond, praline and a hint of condensed milk. The palate brings roasted pineapple, sea salt, tobacco, pralined nuts and coffee, the highland fruit and field character carrying through. A terroir driven rested tequila that changes with each estate.
