Description
Tequila Ocho Plata Laguna Colorada 2025 is a 100% Blue Weber agave tequila from the Camarena family, behind El Tesoro and Tapatio, made in partnership with the late Tomas Estes and bottled at NOM 1474. Ocho is single estate and vintage dated, each release naming the specific rancho, here the Laguna Colorada field in the highland Golden Triangle near Arandas, so each year reads differently by field.
Laguna Colorada sits at roughly 2,000 to 2,100 metres on the iron-rich red volcanic soil typical of Los Altos, where intense sun and cool nights slow the agave and concentrate its sugars. The producer states it is additive-free. The nose is led by fresh roasted sweet agave, lime and grapefruit zest, cut grass, white pepper and a hint of cinnamon. The palate carries ripe agave sweetness, a marked wet-stone minerality from the altitude, and a peppery, lightly herbal close.
