Nc’nean 2017 Batch 1

This is Batch 1 of Nc’nean's Organic Single Malt, the rotating core release, drawn from the distillery's first full year of 2017 spirit. Made from organic Scottish barley at a net-zero distillery on the Drimnin Estate, it is light and fruity in the style set by the late Dr Jim Swan.

Split between shaved, toasted and recharred red wine casks and ex-Bourbon, the young malt drew red fruit and baking spice from the recharred wine wood and vanilla from the bourbon oak, the active casks working fast.

At 46% it shows vanilla, citrus, honey and a toasted, malty note over a fresh-fruited body. The bottling that became the core range.
