Nardini Mandorla is an Italian almond liqueur from Ditta Bortolo Nardini, the distillery founded in 1779 at Bassano del Grappa, built not on neutral spirit but on the house's own grappa made from the pomace of Pinot, Tocai and Cabernet grapes. That grappa base gives it a fruity elegance and a spicy depth beneath the almond, and the refinement with almonds creates a flavour that sits apart from both classic grappa and a standard amaretto. It is bottled at a powerful 50%.

The nose is intense almond with subtle fruity notes of those Pinot, Tocai and Cabernet grapes and a fine spice, the palate full bodied and soft with sweet almonds, gentle grape notes and light marzipan, finishing long and warm with fine almond and grappa. Behind the bar that strength and depth make it a serious almond note, lending nutty body and warmth to an Almond Sour or an almond led Espresso Martini, or an aromatic edge to a stirred drink. Serve it neat or over ice as a digestif where its grappa backbone can show.
