Nardini Rabarbaro Aperitivo is a rhubarb aperitivo from Ditta Bortolo Nardini, the distillery founded in 1779 at Bassano del Grappa and one of the oldest in Italy, its Ponte Vecchio logo carried on label and bottle. Rhubarb is the lead here, distilled from a careful selection of the stalk alongside other botanicals into an aperitif that pairs the house's long distilling tradition with a fresher, contemporary flavour. It is bottled at a light 19%.

The nose is fresh rhubarb with a fine fruitiness and a subtle herbal note, the palate refreshing and slightly tart with a balanced rhubarb flavour, a mild sweetness and a hint of citrus, finishing mild and light with a tart fruitiness that lingers. Behind the bar it brings tart fruit, a clean acidity and an aromatic lift, which makes it a natural in a rhubarb led spritz, a rhubarb sour or a fruity fizz. Serve it chilled over ice on its own, or lengthen it with sparkling wine and soda for a bright, tart aperitivo.
