Description
Nardini Acqua di Cedro is a lemon liqueur from the Distilleria Nardini of Italy, a long established house known for traditional liqueur making. Its key ingredient is the cedrat, or citron, a large aromatic citrus prized for its fragrant, slightly bitter peel. The peel is macerated in alcohol so its essential oils carry into the spirit, the liqueur bottled at 29% in the 700ml format, a richer and more bitter style than a standard sweet limoncello.
The nose is fresh and intense with cedrat lemon and a hint of bitter citrus, the palate refreshing and fruity with a clear cedrat note and a balanced sweetness, the finish long with a delicate citrus freshness and a slightly bitter edge that rounds it off. In a drink it brings bright, faintly bitter citrus that works as an aperitif on its own or over ice, and lifts a citrus forward cocktail. It pairs well with fresh seafood, grilled vegetables and light salads, and serves neat and chilled as a digestif.
