Description
Nardini Bitter Aperitivo is an Italian bitter liqueur from Ditta Bortolo Nardini, the distillery founded in 1779 at Bassano del Grappa and one of the oldest spirits producers in Italy. It is built from a variety of herbs, spices and citrus fruits that give it an intense, complex flavour structure, a bitter aperitivo in the Italian style designed to open a meal rather than close it. It is bottled at 24%.
The nose is intense with herbs, spices and a fresh citrus note, the palate complex and balanced with a pleasant bitterness carried by citrus and herbs over mint, anise, wormwood and gentian, finishing long and pleasantly bitter with a fresh, spicy aftertaste. Behind the bar it brings a bitter herbal backbone and a citrus lift, the building blocks of the aperitivo style, which makes it a natural in a Negroni or a Spritz where it adds bitterness and colour. Serve it neat or over ice as an aperitif alongside small appetisers, or stir it into a bitter forward cocktail.
