Mortlach The Katana’s Edge

This bottling is a distillery bottling of Mortlach. Mortlach is the Speyside outlier known as the Beast of Dufftown, its worm tubs and 2.81 distillation building a dense, sulphury, meaty spirit.

Ex-Bourbon maturation framed the robust Mortlach spirit, the low-tannin oak lending vanilla over the savoury core as oxidation slowly began.

At 58% it shows cooked fruit, dried fruit, fresh fruit, honey, malt extract and vanilla, undiluted. Big, savoury and full-bodied.
