Description
From Douglas Laing, the Glasgow independent established in 1948, this 7 Year Old is a 2009 from cask DL 11196. Mortlach, long the muscular heart of the Johnnie Walker blends, draws its meaty depth from low-copper worm tubs and a 2.81-times distillation regime.
Seven years in a bourbon cask kept Mortlach's weighty make bold and spirit-led, low-tannin oak lending vanilla over the savoury core.
At 46% it shows vanilla, cooked fruit and a savoury weight over the full-bodied base. A muscular Speyside malt.
