Mortlach 41 Years Old 1971 (Gordon & MacPhail)

Gordon & MacPhail of Elgin, whose deep stocks include some of the oldest Mortlach in existence, selected this 41 Year Old: a 1971 distillation. Mortlach's heavy, savoury style comes from worm-tub condensing and a part-triple distillation through the Wee Witchie, unchanged since 1897.

Across forty-one years heavy evaporation and slow oxidation concentrated the robust Mortlach spirit, leather and old-wood depth as the strength drifted lower.

At 43% it shows fragrant. The savoury Dufftown style.
