Description

From Cadenhead's, Scotland's oldest independent bottler, founded in 1842, this 29 Year Old is a 1988 vintage, an outturn of 534 bottles. Mortlach is the Speyside outlier known as the Beast of Dufftown, its worm tubs and 2.81 distillation building a dense, sulphury, meaty spirit.

Across twenty-nine years the Oloroso and a slow angel's share concentrated the muscular Dufftown spirit into stewed dried fruit, chocolate and a leathery depth.

At 55.1% it shows a sherried depth, chocolate, an oily texture and tobacco, undiluted. Mortlach at full weight.
