Mortlach 16 Years Old

This official 16 Year Old comes from Mortlach itself. Mortlach is Speyside's great meaty malt, its 1823 Dufftown stillhouse using worm tubs and a 2.81 distillation that defies the region's lighter norm.

By sixteen years the dense Mortlach spirit had turned oxidative, esters and acetals lending dried fruit and a savoury, oily weight beneath the vanilla.

At 43.4% it shows honey, dried fruit, a sherried depth, fresh oak, malt extract and leather. A Beast of Dufftown.
