Description

Signatory Vintage, one of Scotland's largest independent bottlers, drew this 13 Year Old, a 2008 vintage from a small parcel of casks. Founded in Dufftown in 1823, Mortlach owes its rich, meaty weight to worm-tub condensers and the unusual 2.81 distillation devised by Alexander Cowie.

Thirteen years in ex-Bourbon let oak meet weight, vanilla and honey from lignin and wood sugars settling over the dense Mortlach spirit.

At 46% it shows citrus, fresh fruit and old wood. A Beast of Dufftown.
