Description

Krügers Whiskygalerie, an independent bottler, bottles this 12 Year Old: a 1993 distillation, an outturn of 360 bottles. Mortlach's heavy, savoury style comes from worm-tub condensing and a part-triple distillation through the Wee Witchie, unchanged since 1897.

Twelve years in Oloroso wrapped the bold, full-bodied make in dried fruit, the sherry's melanoidins giving raisin and fig over the meaty core.

At 43% it shows fig, date, leather and dark chocolate on Mortlach's muscular frame. A meaty, muscular Mortlach.
