Description
Mijenta Blanco is a 100 percent Blue Weber tequila from Los Altos, the highland plateau of Jalisco, made at Casa Tequilera de Arandas under master distiller Ana María Romero Mena, one of Mexico's most respected noses. The brand is a B Corp known for slow, deliberate production and long fermentation, and Mijenta is a producer that states its tequilas are additive-free.
The agave is slowly cooked to deepen sweetness, richly fermented and gently twice distilled in pot stills, with careful cutting of heads and tails. That care shows in aromas of cooked agave, vanilla and caramel alongside floral and fruity notes of melon and peach, and a palate of cooked agave, fresh fruit and warm cinnamon spice. Bottled unaged at 40 percent, it shows the rounded, honeyed character typical of high highland agave.
