Luxardo Sambuca dei Cesari

Luxardo Sambuca dei Cesari is a traditional Italian sambuca from Luxardo, the house founded in 1821 and known for its fine spirits since, reflecting the classic production of the style. Built on the typical combination of aniseed, coriander and star anise, it is bottled at 38% and offers an authentic aniseed character with a balanced sweetness and a fine spiciness that give it a harmonious yet powerful structure.

The nose is intense with aniseed, a fine spiciness and a hint of citrus fruit, the palate soft and sweet with dominant aniseed, a slightly floral edge and hints of coriander and cinnamon, finishing long with a pleasant aniseed sweetness and a light herbal spice. Behind the bar it brings aniseed flavour and a smooth sweetness, which suits aniseed forward cocktails such as a Sambuca Sour and pairs naturally with coffee. It is traditionally served with a coffee bean in the glass, and is just as good neat or on ice as an after dinner digestif.
