Luxardo Maraschino

Luxardo Maraschino is one of Italy's best known cherry liqueurs and a fixture of the cocktail world, made by Luxardo, the house founded in 1821 and now based in the Veneto. It is distilled from the house's own Marasca cherries, a special variety grown on Luxardo plantations, and the recipe is still produced by traditional methods, with the bottle wrapped in its distinctive straw. It is bottled at 25%.

The nose carries Marasca cherries, floral notes, almonds and rose petals with subtle spice, the palate harmonious and complex with cherries, marzipan, almonds, floral accents and balanced sweetness, finishing long, delicately fruity and elegant with characteristic almond notes. Behind the bar it is an indispensable modifier, adding cherry, almond and a dry, nutty sweetness, which is why it carries the Aviation, the Last Word, the Martinez and the Hemingway Daiquiri. It is also fine neat, slightly chilled or on the rocks.
